Road Kill Diner — 800 × 600mm

Road Kill Diner is large Americana wooden wall art inspired by vintage roadside diner graphics and Appalachian roadside culture.

Road Kill Diner takes its cue from Marlinton, West Virginia — a real Appalachian mountain town with a long-standing connection to one of America’s most unusual food traditions: the West Virginia RoadKill Cook-Off.

The sign builds on that real local character without trying to reproduce any existing business. A long-horn bull skull anchors the centre, while the bold ROAD KILL DINER lettering, FRESH / GRITTY panels and MARLINTON W.VA / HIGHWAY BOUNTY details give the piece the feel of a roadside diner sign that might have grown out of the town’s offbeat food culture.

The design is intentionally bold and graphic, with a shaped outer profile, carved lettering, layered detail and areas of exposed timber all working together to give it the presence of a proper sign rather than a printed reproduction. The natural grain remains visible and becomes part of the finished surface, so the piece feels substantial, tactile and individual.

At 800 × 600mm, Road Kill Diner is a statement piece. It has enough scale to hold a wall on its own and suits kitchens, bars, dining spaces, games rooms, workshops and interiors that can carry a strong piece of American roadside-inspired wall art.

Made properly. Front to back.

Made in our rural Leicestershire workshop from 19mm hardwood-veneered engineered timber, with hardwood veneer to both faces. Each colour is hand-applied to work with the timber rather than hide it. The reverse is fully finished, the piece is protected with a sprayed satin clear coat and it is supplied ready to hang with two D-rings and stainless-steel wire.
