Palooka's Gym — 600 × 600mm

Palooka’s Gym is vintage boxing wooden wall art inspired by mid-century city gyms, neighbourhood boxing clubs and old painted sports signs.

Palooka’s Gym has the swagger of a place that feels as though it has occupied the same city block for generations. Inspired by the bold visual language of mid-century boxing clubs, the shaped composition centres on a pair of battered gloves, broad period lettering and the deliberately simple promise of a neighbourhood gym on Second Street.

The warm amber timber, deep blue detailing and restrained red lettering give the piece the character of an old painted gym sign without turning it into reproduction memorabilia. Cut directly into the hardwood veneer and finished by hand, the carved linework, raised details and visible grain give it depth that changes as you move around it.

This is the exact finished PP046 piece shown in the photographs and is available now.
