Golden Geisha Noodles is unusual wooden wall art inspired by vintage noodle-house signage, carved and hand-finished in timber.
Golden Geisha was designed to feel like the sort of sign you might have discovered glowing above the doorway of a much-loved noodle house — bold, memorable and full of character.
The deep red field, warm gold lettering and vivid blue kimono give the piece its immediate impact, but it is the carved detail that makes it worth looking at twice. The timber grain running through the raised lettering, the layered hair and chopsticks, the bowl and noodles, the recessed background — all of it gives the sign a depth and texture that flat printed artwork simply cannot reproduce.
There is a deliberate sense of theatre to it. From across a room, Golden Geisha reads as a strong graphic piece. Up close, the surface reveals the work: carved edges, exposed veneer, hand-applied colour and the natural variations in the timber beneath.
This is not a reproduction print or a mass-produced plaque. It is the exact finished piece shown in the photographs, made as an individual piece of wall art and available now.
At 600mm diameter, it has enough scale to hold a wall on its own without becoming overpowering. It works particularly well in kitchens, dining spaces, bars and interiors where something with genuine personality is called for.
Each colour has been applied to work with the timber rather than hide it, leaving the grain visible through the finish and allowing the material to remain part of the design. The reverse is finished to the same standard as the front, and the piece is protected with a satin clear coat before being fitted ready to hang.
